How to Update The Status of a Grave/Burial Right

Step 1

Log into webCemeteries Management.

Step 2

Hover over "Locations" on the left side menu and click "Search Locations".

Step 3

Select a Section to search from the drop down menu or select a property status from the drop down list to search by that status. Click "Search" to begin your search.

Step 4

Your search results will appear below. Click on the name of your property to view to location page to see the entire lot view. To access the grave status screen directly, click on the property's number/name in the second column from the left. Your cemetery might call this a grave, a space, a site, or something else (this depends on how you've labeled your location fields).

Step 5

Click “Edit Details” to access the grave status edit field.

Step 6

A pop up window will appear for you and you can click on the “status” field to make a change to the grave status and mark it as For Sale, Do Not Use or another status.

Occupied Status Cannot Be Changed

If a deceased has been added to a grave, then the Grave Status will default to "Occupied."  This doesn't necessarily mean that the physical grave/burial right is occupied in your cemetery -- it just means there is a deceased name in the deceased field.

If you would rather keep the grave as "Empty" until the physical grave/burial right is occupied, you could disinter the deceased and add them as a Beneficiary in the Ownership area of the grave/burial right page.

Step 7

Click “Save” to save your changes and update the grave status.
