How to create a Recurring Work Order

Creating Recurring Work Orders

Recurring work orders help you save time by automatically generating new work orders on a schedule you define. This is perfect for tasks that happen regularly, like monthly maintenance, weekly inspections, or yearly services.

How to Create a Recurring Work Order

Step 1

  • Hover over "Work Orders" on the left side menu and click "Create New Work Order".

2. Enable Recurrence

  • Check the "Set as Recurring" option.

  • This unlocks the recurrence settings below.

3. Configure the Recurrence Details

  • Start Date (Required): The date the first work order will be created.

  • Due After X Days: The due date for the work order after it's creation.

    • Example: if the start date is on the 1st of the month, and it is due after 5 days, the work order due date will always be set to the 6th of the month.

  • Recurrence Interval: The number value for how often it repeats (e.g., every 2 weeks).

  • Recurrence Type: Choose if the recurrence is in Days, Weeks, Months, or Years.

  • End Date (Optional): Choose a final date for the recurrence to stop.

  • Number of Occurrences (Optional): Instead of an end date, you can stop the recurrence after a set number of times.

4. Save the Work Order

Once you save, the system will automatically recreate the work order on the schedule you’ve defined.

Example Use Cases

  • A weekly landscaping check every 7 days.

  • A quarterly equipment inspection every 3 months.

  • A yearly report preparation task every 12 months.

Use recurring work orders to ensure important, repetitive tasks never slip through the cracks.
