Guide to Stakeholder Roles
Understanding Owner, Purchaser, Beneficiary and Trustee stakeholder types
The webCemeteries Contracts Module introduces the concept of stakeholder roles.
Every cemetery differs in their definitions of stakeholder roles but we wanted to share with you how we are defining them to aid you in setting up, creating and managing contracts. Despite the differences in definitions of the roles, currently, all stakeholders can be managed equally in the contracts and ownership modules for those customers who have been upgraded to the new ownership models.
-
Owner- Person(s) named on a contract who has the right and authority to make all decisions regarding the contracted property/interment rights. This person may also be a purchaser of the property/interment rights, but it is not a requirement for ownership rights.
-
Purchaser- Person(s) who contributed financially towards some or all of the purchase price of a contracted property/interment rights, merchandise, or services. While this person has contributed financially, they have no rights or authority to make decisions about the contracted property/interment rights, merchandise, or services.
-
Beneficiary- Person(s) who has been designated as the recipient of property/interment rights upon the death of the owner(s).
-
Trustee- Person(s) or member(s) of a board given control or powers of administration of property in trust with a legal obligation to administer it solely for the purposes specified.
